“Conversation on filmmaking and narrative technique with Moira Demos ’08 and Laura Ricciardi ’07, creators of the celebrated, four-time Emmy Award-winning series Making a Murderer.”

Most critique and commentary on Making a Murderer has focused on the perceived guilt/innocence of the convicted killer(s), the presence of evidence in the documentary treatment, and the failings of the criminal justice system. But with the glut of true crime material, a conversation surrounding the filmmaking techniques themselves holds the promise of a new perspective - one that may open attendees’ eyes to broader truths surrounding the rendition of “justice” in these United States.
