Building Political Power on Both Sides of the Wall

June 30, 6 PM EDT: Town Hall on Our Campaign to End Jail-Based and Felony Disenfranchisement

Hosted by National Council for Incarcerated & Formerly Incarcerated Women & Girls:

As part of our campaign to end the incarceration of women and girls, we need to amplify the political power of women and girls on both sides of the wall. That’s why we’re leading the campaign in Massachusetts to end systems that disenfranchise hyper-policed communities: jail-based disenfranchisement, felony disenfranchisement, and prison gerrymandering.

Join us TONIGHT at 6pm on Zoom for a town hall on the campaign with coalition partners, Devin & Jason McCourty from the New England Patriots, and legislators in Massachusetts who are pushing for legislative change in the State House. Register at bit.ly/june30townhall

In Massachusetts, the fight to bolster political power of incarcerated communities on both sides of the wall has always been led by directly-impacted people. We’ll talk about that history, where the work stands today, and our plan to end jail-based disenfranchisement; end felony disenfranchisement; end prison gerrymandering; and end the incarceration of women and girls.

WHAT: Town Hall and legislative briefing on felony disenfranchisement, jail-based disenfranchisement, and prison gerrymandering in Massachusetts.

WHO: Devin and Jason McCourty, Senator Adam Hinds and Representative Liz Miranda, and coalition partners including formerly & currently incarcerated leaders.

WHERE: bit.ly/june30townhall

WHEN: TODAY, June 30th, 6pm-7pm
